Eating food

Garett has begun to eat "real" food, not just bottles of formula. It has been fun to see how he has reacted to each food. So far he has had rice and oatmeal cereal. Which he preferred rice. And than he tried green beans, squash and bananas, in that order. He did not care for the green beans. My dad asked why I was not surprised by the fact he did not like them. Would  I like to eat green bean without butter, salt and pepper? I guess not. So we moved to squash, which he liked okay. And than tonight we tried bananas and I think he would have eaten the whole jar! He tended to gag with the green beans. Lets just say he he did not gag with the bananas! So, from the short list of foods he has to choose from, understandably, his new favorite is bananas! But like a good mom, I will still make him eat his vegetables! And in case anyone was wondering baby food bananas don't  taste like bananas at all.

Back on Track!

Well it has taken about a week to get back to normal after our trip back to Minnesota. We got back to Denver last Sunday morning at 2 am, and this week Garett finally seems to be normal again. He was quite the handful for our nanny Tricia last week. I believe there was a lot of crying and screaming that was involved in getting him back on track! Really I have Tricia to thank for that! The only part of his schedule that is not "normal" is his sleeping (unfortunately!) Before we left for MN he was sleeping through the not. That is not the current case. But my mom likes to remind me that I should feel lucky that he was sleeping through the night before. I apparently did not sleep through the night until I was well over one! Hans and I are hoping that soon he will again sleep through the night. It is amazing how quickly you get used to no sleep, but even quicker we got used to a full night sleep too! Oh well, every other night I get up around 3 am, I guess that is not that bad!

Blogging about Garett

First of all, Hans got a chuckle out of the fact that I am making a blog! But I think it is a good way to remember what is going on in this important yet crazy time in our lives! I can thank  my friend Sara Jo who is blogging her pregnancy. I love reading her posts! So I thought why not chronicle Garett's life. These last 9 months have gone by so fast,  that I don't want to forget anything that goes on in our daily lives. Although scary, before we know it he will be graduating from high school! Ahhhh! I know it is also cliche, but it is true, it goes by fast! Since there are so many new and fun things that Garett learns and does and will continue to do, why not write about it!
