Growing pains

For about the last week or so we have been assuming that Garett was getting more teeth. He was cranky and he is due for some teeth (it has been about 3 months!) We were wrong, he as growing! We know this for a fact because about a week ago Garett fit nicely under the refrigerator door. We could swing it back and forth and not worry about hitting him. Interestingly enough, I found out yesterday, we can no longer do that. The door now hits him in the head!! Hans figures he grew a quarter of an inch!!! Either way, he grew enough to notice. I guess that also explains why he is finding it easier to climb onto the couch and closer to reaching the door handles and tops of the counter! He is growing...literally before our eyes.

15 month check-up

Wow have we been busy! Garett seems to get busier and busier each passing week too. I am finding it harder to get anything done while we home, which I suppose isn't a terrible thing because it means that I get to play more with Garett (I never mind that!). Each age and milestone brings out something more in Garett, I think it is fascinating.

He had his 15 month check up the beginning of January weighing in at 18lbs 8oz, 29 1/2 in!!! Can you believe it...I can't! Imagine starting from 2lbs 6 oz to almost 20!! I am reminded every time when I pick him up just how far he has come. His pediatrician is pleased with how Garett is doing overall and that is great. He is especially happy about his walking.

And boy does Garett walk, he has it down pat, expect when Lucky is around to knock him down! He is cruising all over the house, I have no doubt that in no time it will turn to running all over the house! He is also clapping, pointing and starting to want to look at more books. Books are good, because up until now the only thing a book was good for was ripping out the pages.

Hans and I also enjoyed 5 wonderful, warm days down in the Florida Keys, just the 2 of us! We went down there for a Serina & Dan's wedding...which was beautiful. Garett got the pleasure of staying with Grandma Laurie and having her all to him self...undivided attention which he loves. They had a blast!! Play, play. play. Fun. Fun. Fun. That is what happens when grandparents are in town. It was a good time for all involved, Hans and I and Garett and grandma. I officially was apart from Garett longer than I had ever been, and it went just fine. In fact, better than fine. It was a nice needed break and time to relax, sleep and spend time with Hans. I do suggest it for any of you other parents out there!

Over all it had been a good January (can't believe it is almost over!). Hope you are all doing well also. And for those of you in Minnesota, please do stay warm!!
