The last month

I cannot believe that I haven't updated anything in the last month! Than again, I guess I kind of can believe it, we have a lot of things happening right now. And I incorrectly thought that I would get a breather after the crazy month and a half or so we had this fall. I was wrong. So lets review...

We carved pumpkins. And when I say we I really mean Hans and I carved the pumpkin. This picture was about the only time Garett participated in carving the pumpkin. Garett does not like the feeling of the pumpkin insides.

He was however very interested in the candle inside the pumpkin. Thankfully since he hated the way the inside of pumpkin felt he didn't try to reach in and grab the candle!

I just had to stick this in there to show just how much snow we got at the end of October. It was over 2 feet of snow. But true to Colorado form it was almost gone by Halloween thanks to a week of 60+ degree temps!

Most Sunday mornings Hans takes Lucky for a walk and Garett and I drink coffee together. Actually I drink coffee and he drink milk out of a coffee cup. It is one of those great moments with your child. I absolutely cherish these moments with Garett. They are so precious to me. Sitting, talking and drinking coffee with my two year old...gotta love it!

For Halloween Garett was superman. That is until we put on the outfit, he got mad and took off the outfit. I really don't know what he has against superman, but he was not having the outfit...

Good thing we had a back up (thanks Lynette!). So he was Dr. Iverson, and he was ok with that.
We went up and down our block and the next. Garett sucked on his sucker and held out his basket for candy.
And than enjoyed his candy.

Garett doesn't really like to color all that much, but we try to do it every now and than. And really what he likes to do most is put the caps on and off of the markers. In between doing that he will color.
What little kid doesn't like to put on their parents shoes? One morning after Hans had left, I was finishing getting ready, I heard someone walking around downstairs, clomp...clomp...clomp. I go to see if Hans is back for some reason, nope, just Garett walking around wearing Hans shoes!
I just love these pictures of Garett. It was one of those rare moments where he was smiling for the camera and hamming it up! Normally, he plays coy and doesn't look at the camera.

Loves to play airplane with his dad.
We tried to switch garett to a big boy bed, we even took a picture to remember the big day. Here is how it went. First night was good, we were woken up at 5:30 am, with a Hiii! Not too bad, that is doable. Next night went well got a hi this morning at 6:30 am...ok this isn't so bad at all. Following morning we got a hi at 4:00 am! Yes that is right 4 am. After lots of kicking, tossing, turning, TV on, TV off, we all got up. Not so good, but maybe it was a fluke right? Next night Garett goes to bed and we have hopes of a good night sleep and a little boy who sleeps in until at least 5:30. Not so lucky. Again, at 4 am we are greeted by a big happy hi! The next hour was not so happy. Hans tried to put Garett back to bed and he cried. Hans got frustrated. I tried to put him back to bed. I closed the door to his room and Garett fought to open it. I put him back to bed, closed the door and he tried to open it. He was mad. He cried, he screamed. I got frustrated. So, at 4:45 am we proceeded to put the crib back together again. The big boy bed is done for now. We will attempt at a later time.

For some reason unknown to Hans and I, Garett absolutely loves to pour water from one cup to another. He prefers that they be coffee cups (see below) but really any cup will do. And really, if there is no water, pouring anything (markers (see above),food, toys, paperclips, any object) will do. We kind of joke that maybe someday he will be a pharmacist since he likes to sort things and pour out stuff. Or maybe he will do something with water...who know. All I know is Garett is obsessed with coffee cups and water.

And Garett has started talking a whole lot. We often hear him repeat things we said...scary I know. He finally started say mom. It is no longer just dad, it is my dad. He says Lucky and Garett, and a whole host of other words. About 60 words to be exact and it is honestly expanding everyday. His absolute favorite book it a book of 100 words with pictures. We go through each page and he names off and points to all the pictures. He loves it!
