*He is 21.5lbs. We know this because he stood very nicely on the airport scale yesterday.
*He is at least 32 in tall. Really he does not sit still long enough to be measured by me, so we will wait until his 2 year appointment for the official word.
*He says about 20 words, more coming each day! His favorite is Dada or Hi Dada. His newest one is Papa (grandpa) which he first said this weekend to my dad, you can imagine the reaction. He also says bubbles, more, milk, juice, dog, bird, all done, baby, hi and Hans swears he has said yogurt, but I can't confirm that one!
*He loves his morning routine. Get up at about 5:30 am. Come in mom and dad room and get in bed. Dad bring up a yogurt drink. Drink yogurt in bed while watching Sesame Street. Have to say we like this little routine too...nothing beats laying in bed with him in the morning. Nice way to start the day.
*He climbs on EVERYTHING! (See picture below) In fact, today he climbed up onto our rather tall end table get at a diffuser with smelly stuff in it. Until today it was positioned in the back corner...now it is not on the table.
*Along the lines of climbing, he loves the slide. He could slide for an hour. Not sure which part he likes most, climbing up to the slide or going down.
*He loves to play outside (I guess most kids probably do!). I have to bribe him to come inside otherwise it ends in a screaming fit! So we bribe with a cookie!
*He loves to take a bath. Really he loves to have the water run, fill up a large cup and dump over his head and repeat over and over. Occasionally drinking straight out of the faucet too. In fact he has learned how to climb into our tub and turn the water on, which means he can now take a bath on his own terms, even if that means with his clothes on!
*He does not love being told no...go figure. This often results in a fit of screaming ( not one of his better qualities).
He does not want help unless asked for. He is fiercely independent. Unless requested he does not want you intervening.
*He wants to drink out of whatever we might be drinking i.e.: coffee mugs, beer bottles, water bottles, anything that is not his real cup will do.
*He really doesn't like to be crowded, he needs his space. His friend Christian always wants to give Garett a hug...he never wants to reciprocate. And in case you are wondering if it is just Christian it isn't. He did the same thing last weekend with his friend Malloy...no hugs!
And those are the highlights I can think of right now...I am sure there are more, but this will do I guess. Garett is just simply amazing and we love him.
Happy 21 month Birthday GarBear. We love you!!!
